i find this interesting. i, too, think that when
i read some of the works. its almost as if you
    can smell the subliminal narcissism....

i do dig may swenson... but as you have said,
there are times that i read her pieces and think
that because she got complimented on a piece,
she should repeat the same measure.
her work is a bit repetitive in style.

*ding ding ding* WE HAVE A WINNER!

All good works of literature, and more recently film and music, come from a feeling or idea that the author has, not the feeling that the author is trying to evoke. Not too much of the good stuff around. But what would I know? Just some dimwitted moron who will now return to his regularly scheduled message board.

I liked this piece. I can't pin down exactly what about it makes it read so well. Maybe it's just me. But good work.

I've no idea what some of the exchanges above are about, but I like some of the images in this piece.
